Kargil Stands With Palestine
IKMT Takes Out Massive Protest Rally On 'Nakaba Day’

 Kargil, May 2018 (News Desk, VOL): Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust Kargil (IKMT) organized a massive protest rally in Kargil against the Israeli atrocities and illegal occupation of Palestine.

It was against the killing of 60 innocent people, including women and children, and injuring more than 500 Palestinian at Gaza border by the occupied Zionist Regime on the Day Of Nakaba 'Day of Catastrophe. The protesters were holding placards against the illegal occupation, US and Israel. Palestinian flag along with the national Tri Colour were also held by the protestors. The protest rally was embarked from Jamia Masjid Kargil, passed through Islamia School Chowk and culminated at Lal Chowk Kargil. The leaders in the rally condemned the 70 years occupation of Palestine and opening of US Embassy in Jerusalem. Addressing to the gathering MLA Kargil Asgar Karbalai Said that the Palestine issue is the issue of humanity and the people across the globe are raising voice against the Israeli terror and continuing atrocities on Palestinians. He also condemned the Arab leaders what he termed as “criminal silence on Palestine issue”. Former Chairman IKMT, Shiekh Hussain Lutfi also spoke on the occasion and condemned the ongoing brutal attack of Israeli soldiers on Palestinians on the Day of Akaba killing more than 50 people and injuring hundreds. He hoped that one day the First Qibla of Muslims AlQuds will be liberated from Israel. The protestors were shouting anti Israel and anti US slogans and expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine. At the end of the rally effigies of Donald Trump and Netanyahu were burnt by the protesters amidst slogans against Israel and US.

Chairman LC Inaugurates Mega Health Screening Camp

Kargil, May 2018 (News Desk, VOL):- Chairman Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali today said that Government is fully committed for the overall development of the far flung and remote pockets of the state and focused attention is being given to augment facilities to the people in all sectors.
The Chairman stated this while inaugurating a mega health screening camp at Government Higher Secondary School Silmoo here today. The health camp was organized by the Department of Health Kargil under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK). Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor Kargil Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, Deputy Commissioner Kargil Vikas Kundal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kargil Tsering Gyalpo accompanied the Chairman. During the day long camp child health screening and early intervention services were provided to around 1000 children from 0-18 years of Silmoo, Batalik and adjoining villages. Screening clinics of ENT, ophthalmology, gynecology, pediatrics, dental surgery, adolescent friendly health clinic, specialist clinic  and other health streams besides testing laboratories and medicines counter were set up to extend free screening and tertiary treatment for defects at birth, deficiencies, diseases, development delays and disabilities.
The Chairman hailed the efforts of Health Department Kargil in organizing the screening camp for the children of Batalik area. He stressed upon the doctors and paramedics to extend best possible screening facilities through the camp further adding health screening assumes great significance in childrens' healthy physical and mental development.
Haji Anayat said that to provide extended healthcare facilities in the district work on the 200 bedded hospital at Kurbathang is being executed on priority and work on the project is expected to be completed soon.
While referring to the steps being taken by the Government to improve road connectivity in the district, the Chairman said that for the first time in the history of Kargil road projects worth Rs 300 crores have been sanctioned under CRF, PMGSY and other schemes. 

CEC Reviewed Status of Projects in Executive Council Meeting,

 Kargil, May 2018 (News Desk, VOL): Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor Kargil Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan today chaired the monthly meeting of the Executive Council of LAHDC, Kargil. During the course of the meeting the CEC reviewed the implementation of the decisions taken in the last meeting of the Executive Council and also took stock of the pace of work on various development projects.
Executive Councillor for Education Advocate Muhammad Amir, Executive Councillor for Rural Development Aga Syed Hassan Armaan Mosavi, Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Hussain, Executive Councillor for Zanskar Affairs Tenzin Sonam, CEC's Advisor Haji Muhammad Shafi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Imteeaz Kacho, Superintending Engineer PWD Kargil Sarwandh Singh besides other concerned officers were also present in the meeting.
Issues that came up for discussion included the physical and financial status of the Rs 12 crores additional funds allotted for the execution of various developmental activities in the district, construction of 200 bedded hospital, status of works under AMRUT scheme, LAHDC Secretariat and Girls Hostel at Jammu, introduction of Arabic and Purgi language in schools and the engagement of Masters and Teachers on contractual basis during the current academic year.
The CEC also took stock of the implementation of the detachment orders of the employees in Education Department, allotment of land in favor of tin shed owners at Kurbathang, constitution of committee to put checks on dumping of debris along road sides, construction of Kargil Sarai at Dwarka New Delhi and other issues.
It was given in the meeting that work on the 200 bedded hospital at Kurbathang is under execution at a cost of Rs 3.00 crores. The CEC while underling the importance of the project said that the completion of the hospital infrastructure will go a long way in lessening the burden of patients on the existing District Hospital. He stressed upon the concerned to ensure completion of the project well within the stipulated period of time.
The CEC was informed that for introduction of Purgi language in schools induction trainings are being conducted in near future so that the teaching of Purgi can be kick started in schools. The CEC directed to constitute a committee comprising of the EC Education, Chief Education Officer and Principal DIET Kargil which shall devise the syllabus for Arabic and Purgi teaching. To overcome the shortage of teaching staff Kacho directed for immediate conduct of interviews for the posting of Masters and Teachers on contractual basis during the current academic year.
The CEC also issued directions for necessary appraisal of the Master Plan for Kargil Town, completion of the remaining works on the new Council Secretariat, repair and restoration works of the canal at Haftal Hydel Project Zanskar and arrangement of irrigational facilities in drought affected areas. 

DM Initiates Market Checking Through  Squad
Fines Imposed Against Erring Shopkeepers


Kargil, May 2018 (News Desk, VOL):In view of Ramadan, a market checking squad headed by the Assistant Director FCS&CA Kargil  and Naib Tehsildar Kargil initiated massive market  checking from Baroo to Bazar in the Town and other spots in Kargil town and adjoining areas. The directions in this regard were issued by the District Magistrate Kargil Mr  Vikas Kundal.During the inspection the team comprised  of the officers from Health, Sheep Husbandry and Police Department seized a huge quantity of stale fruit, bakery, ice cream and other inedible food items which were destroyed on spot.
Moreover fines worth Rs 44000/= were imposed upon the shopkeepers on the spot for violating the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 and Essential Commodities Act.

Training Programme for Haj Pilgrims Held at Kargil

Kargil, May 2018 (News Desk, VOL):State Hajj Committee in collaboration with District Administration Kargil conducted a one day training porgramme for the Hajj pilgrims of Kargil district at Conference Hall Baroo last week.
 During the training programme which was spread over two sessions, the pilgrims were enlightened in detail about the rituals, necessary instructions to be observed during Hajj at Mecca.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Imteeaz Kacho, several officers of the civil administration and trainers were also present on the occasion. The ADC while addressing the participants expressed his best wishes to the pilgrims for embarking on the sacred journey of life. 74 Hajj pilgrims including 24 females and 50 males attended the training programme who had arrived from different parts of the district.   Pertinently, this was the first phase of training program held for the pilgrims of the district for Hajj this year, while as the second phase is scheduled to be held after Ramzan.   Meanwhile the first batch of Hajj pilgrims is expected to leave for the Holy city of Makkah by July 15 this year.

DC Leh Reviews Pm’s visit Arrangements

 Kargil, May 2018 (News Desk, VOL): Deputy Commissioner Leh  Avny Lavasa chaired a high level meeting of officers of Leh district to review the arrangements being made by the district administration for the smooth conduct of Prime Minister's visit on May 19.
She directed the officers to gear up their men and machinery in making all best possible arrangements under their allied departments including accommodation of VVIPs, security, transport, setting, parking, and preparation of stage with decoration, barricading, drinking water, and health at the venue of the PM's visit.  She directed the health department to arrange critical care ambulances with medicines on that day at the venue of the PM visit. She directed Executive Engineer Construction Division for proper leveling of premises and upgradation of in and around link roads of the venue. She asked Administrator MC and ACD to ensure proper arrangements of toilets for VVIPs and general public.
On the occasion Air Officer Commanding, 21 Wing Airforce Station, Leh, Chief Engineer, HIMANK, Leh, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Leh Sargon Shukla, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh Moses Kunzang, besides other senior officers of Police, PWD, PHE, BSNL, LDA, Tourism, Health, Education,  Fire and Emergency Services and Transport were present on the occasion.   

Scientific Advisory Committee of KVK Kargil Meets

 Kargil, May 2018 (News Desk, VOL):The 14th Scientific Advisory Committee meeting of KVK Kargil  was held at Conference Hall Baroo on May 7. The Vice Chancellor SKUAST (K) Prof Nazir Ahmad chaired the meeting. While underlining the need to hold need based interactive sessions and brain storming sessions on problems identified with regard to low production in Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and allied sectors stressed upon scientific interventions so that maximum number of farmers are benefitted.  Executive Councilor Muhammad Hussain was the chief guest on the occasion who stressed upon better coordination among the line departments in disseminating latest technological knowhow among farmers so as to give boost to the productivity of crops in the district. He assured full  cooperation and support from the Hill Council to the KVK for widening and expanding its working spectrum in the larger interest of the farming community in the district. Earlier Programme Coordinator, KVK Kargil Dr Ghulam Mehdi through a power point presentation briefed the meeting about the activities undertaken by the KVK during the previous year and presented the projected action plan for the year 2018-2019.
Meanwhile participants in the meeting stressed upon the need of close coordination among farmers, extension functionaries and KVK scientists to devise concrete strategies in line with the emerging challenges of the day so as to overcome the constraints in agriculture production and productivity.
Among the others who were present on the occasion included Director Extension SKUAST (K) Dr Mushtaq Ahmad, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, officers from other line departments and progressive farmers and farm women from different parts of the district.
